Christmas in October?

Are we really just starting October?

Beginning late last month, city workers have been putting up Christmas lights in downtown, including these in Independence Park and along Seventh Ave.

Wouldn't it be easier just to leave 'em up all year?

Incidentally, the Supreme Court recently ruled that, Colombia being a secular country, judges should not quote the Bible in their rulings.

I guess that ruling hasn't made it down to the public works department. Or, maybe they're about to start on the Muslim, Jewish and Buddhist holiday decorations in public spaces.

The early Christmas decorations have one advantage: They make you realize how many things you need to get done before year end, and maybe prompt you to get working on them.
